Ibuprofen Action Mechanism
This non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs) blocks the action of the enzyme type 1 (COX-1) and type2 (COX-2) cyclo-oxygenase and thus impedes the prostaglandin synthesis. Both these enzymes play a crucial role in aggravating your painful complication. Ibuprofen Dosage

Its dosage for pain associated with dysmenorrhea is 200 mg - 400 mg with 4 – 6 hours interval. While, its dose in case of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis is 400mg - 800mg is recommended for every 6 - 8 hours.
